Law breakers arrested in Tsakani

Over 300 suspects were arrested during a police operation held by the SAPS provincial office.

Kwatsaduza – An O Kae Molao operation held in Tsakani over the weekend saw the arrest of 319 offenders.
The operation was led by the provincial commissioner Major General Tommy Mthombeni accompanied by other senior SAPS officials.
The operation was conducted by various departments, including EMPD, JMPD, Gauteng Traffic, Department of Education, CPF and Home Affairs, from Friday evening until Sunday morning.
Tembisa South SAPS spokesperson Captain Neldah Sekgobela explained that the operation was aimed at ensuring the safety of inhabitants in the area.

“Suspects were nabbed for various crimes, which include driving under the influence of alcohol, assault, assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, theft, armed robbery, rape, possession of drugs, dealing in drugs and more.
“All the successes were affected through high visibility in hot spots areas, visits to liquor outlets, stop and searches and roadblocks,” she added.
All the arrested suspects are expected to appear in Ekurhuleni’s various magistrate courts tomorrow to face their charges.
