Missing Kwa-Thema man reunited with family
The staff at the hospital told Bridgette her father was brought in by SAPS officers who found him on the side of the road.
Kwa-Thema – Missing senior citizen Themba Ramotsepe (68) has been found and his family could not be happier.
“I am so relieved that we have found him. I’m grateful to all the people who kept us in their prayers during this trying time,” said Bridgette, Ramotsepe’s daughter.
She was made aware of her father’s whereabouts on Monday – three months after he walked out of his home in Highland on May 4.
“A nurse from Tambo Memorial Hospital in Boksburg called me. She explained that she saw a missing person’s poster on social media and believed the person was my father,” explained Bridgette.
She went to the hospital on Tuesday morning and was able to bring him home the same day.
“When I saw him I could not contain my joy,” she added.

Bridgette said she still believed her father was alive even after having been missing for so long.
“It was the first time he has left and never come back. He usually takes walks around the neighbourhood but always comes back home,” she said.
The situation was worsened by the fact that Ramotsepe suffers from dementia.
“The nurse said that my father could remember his name but not our address. They would try to get information from him, but he did not remember much,” said Bridgette.
The staff at the hospital told Bridgette her father was brought in by SAPS officers who found him on the side of the road.
“His feet showed signs of injury, which leads me to believe that he walked from Kwa-Thema to Boksburg.
“I am grateful they kept him there all this time until they figured out how to get hold of us,” she said.
Bridgette said her father is in good health and is adjusting to being back home with his loved ones.
