Liquor traders encouraged to abide by the law
Liquor traders were encouraged to abide by the law or they would lose their trading licence.
Tsakani – Liquor traders were reminded to comply with all the liquor board regulations to avoid being shut down, during a monthly meeting on Thursday.
The monthly meetings are aimed at building a strong crime prevention strategy.
Tsakani police spokesperson Sergeant Lerato Mngomezulu explained that the meetings are also held to educate the traders about the importance of abiding by the law.

“This would reduce some of the criminal activities as selling liquor without licence alone is a crime.
“Liquor traders can also play a role in fighting GBV and drug abuse awareness,” she added.
They were also informed that the high rate of crime in the area is a result of the usage of alcohol.
Tsakani SAPS has zero tolerance toward taverns that are breaking the rules and not complying with the regulations.
