Thandolwenkosi wins books for her school
Thandolwenkosi encourages young people to start reading.
KwaThema – Sixteen-year-old Thandolwenkosi Nkosi, from African School for Excellence in Tsakani, won the trolley library during the Road to Literacy Library Trolley Campaign recently.
The competition was sponsored by Avbob and Oxford University Press.
Thandolwenkosi had to nominate a primary school or pre-school by writing a motivational letter on why the nominated school deserves to receive the trolley library.
She chose Ntokozweni Primary School in KwaThema.
Avbob representatives alluded that her letter was the best they had received.

Thandolwenkosi explained that while she was in primary school she fell in love with reading.
“My aim for partaking in the competition was to assist the young ones to also find a home in a book.
“I hope the trolley library will raise awareness on the significance of reading, not only on the school grounds but also around the Kwatsaduza.” she said.
She added that now that the school has received the trolley library, it means that learners from Grade R have an opportunity to be taught how to read at an early age and thus be prepared to understand the written literature in the later grades.
