Angry residents bring Geluksdal to a standstill

Tsakani – Three residents, two males and one female, were arrested for public violence during a community protest in Geluksdal on Monday.
On Monday morning, the angry residents barricaded the roads with burning tyres and big stones preventing access into the area.

At midday, the disgruntled residents marched to the Tsakane Customer Care Centre to deliver the memorandum of grievances to Cluster Relation Manager (CRM) Rebokile Motaung.
Tsakani police spokesperson Sergeant Lerato Mngomezulu said there were no incidents reported during their engagement with the authorities.
“We continue to monitor the situation and call on residents not to resort to violence,” she added.
