Seventh Day Adventist Church gives recognition to the movers and the shakers in the community

Their latest recipient is a former professional soccer player and founder of the Ace Auto Ayoba Academy Football Club.

Kwa-Thema – The Seventh Day Adventist Church outreach programme Community Guest Day puts a spotlight on community builders.
According to the church, this is one of the two most important days on the church’s outreach calendar under the Sabbath School/Personal Ministries department throughout the globe.
On Saturday, the founder of the Ace Auto Academy Football Club and manager, Innocent Mayoyo, was the latest person to receive the recognition.
Makhosazana Nzimande, Kwa-Thema Seventh Day Adventist Church superintendent (Sabbath School department principal), said the initiative provides the church with the opportunity to recognise and honour people who are making a difference in the community.

“The initiative allows the church to invite members of their community to come fellowship with us and share the special message of hope in hard times.
“We recognise those making a difference because some are unaware that there is a higher calling in serving the community. Jesus did not only mingle with people, but He ministered to people’s needs.
“Together the church and the community should work hand in hand in serving our community and bring about lost hope,” explained Nzimande.
Community builders are nominated by members of the church, and then the church does its research through various channels for verification before approving the candidate.
Mayo said the recognition is a Godly appointment. “It serves to remind me of the job at hand which is to change people’s lives. To continue to create opportunities for the most disadvantaged members of our community. I am humbled by the gesture,” he said.
