Langaville – Agitated residents in Langaville Ext 10 said they have been without water for almost two weeks.
The problem has resulted in them having to ask for water from neighbouring areas.
Meanwhile, Rand Water announced the implementation of stage 2 water restrictions in Ekurhuleni on October 4.
The water utility said they were facing a rapid reduction in their reservoir levels which has caused some parts of the city to experience low to no water supply.
Resident Busi Mtshali said they have been badly affected by a lack of water.
“We can’t even perform basic chores nor cook or use the toilet.
“Now we must live with the fear of not knowing if tomorrow we will have water or not.
“This isn’t fair that other areas do get water but there’s none for us,” said Mtshali.

The water supply utility stated that over the last two weeks water consumption across the province had increased significantly resulting in a decline in the overall reservoir storage capacity from 52% to 38%.
Ward 111 Clr Zingisile Mabhe said parts of Ext 10 and 19 are supplied by the Duduza reservoir.
“The level pumps in Duduza are low because of load-shedding and the stolen electricity cables, which is adding to the problem.
“Currently we have water tanks that are roving around the area to assist affected households.
“I am doing my best to ensure the issue gets resolved working hand in hand with the relevant departments,” said Mabhe.
