Association honours former teachers

The association gifted the old former teachers during the ceremony of thanks giving.

Tsakani – The Tsakani Retired Teachers Association honoured two former teachers on September 14 at Tsakani Day-care Centre.
Lovey Maseko (99), a former teacher at Brakpan Old Location, and Basia Rasekoala (92), former Tsakani Secondary School principal, were showered with love and received presents from the association.
Members of the organisation, Linah Monyatsi and Thenjiwe Makgopa said the recognition was long overdue.

“These two individuals have been the pillar of our communities for so long.
“They have produced doctors, teachers and creatives.
“They served wholeheartedly and selflessly,” they said.
Maseko said she was pleased to receive the recognition from the association.
“I loved everything about the initiative.
“It made me realise my contribution to the community wasn’t in vain.
“For someone my age this was an experience I will cherish forever,” she said.
