Community cleans up dumping sites
The community no longer waits for the metro to clean dumping sites.
Langaville – The community of Ward 79 had a clean-up campaign on Saturday at six dumping sites in Ext 7.
The campaign comes after the community saw the need to clean the sites as they felt there is no support from the metro.
Ward 79 Clr Njabulo Mbonani said, “We cannot turn a blind eye or wait for government.
“We are now joining hands as the community to clean illegal dumping sites.”
The community said the sites are a health hazard and they don’t want to end up getting sick.
The ward didn’t have cleaning materials but used what they could.
The campaign took place at Duduza Rank, Vlakfontein Road, corner of Msiza Street, Cornwell Street, Madalane Street and Mbokazi Street all in Ext Seven.
The campaign will continue on Saturday.
