Langaville – Kagiso Maranjane, popularly known by his stage name Baby Daddy da MC, is an MC and entertainer.
He grew up in Langaville and enjoyed playing soccer in his teens but later realised his dream of becoming an MC and entertainer.
The 28-year-old started his journey six years ago at the club YFM Kona Sundays in Langaville during their Sunday sessions.
“I used to get to the sessions and started making noises. People would react to that, so one day, Oferta Joy Moalo, who was responsible for the sound, bought me a mic to use to hype people and bring a bit of a vibe during the sessions,” said Kagiso.

He added that growing up, he idolised MCs like Tshepo Pootana, famously known as Tallarsetee, and Mark Khoza.
Kagiso moved from being a resident MC to doing gigs outside his neighbourhood so people could see and know him.
His first gig outside Langaville was at the Tsakani Street Market. He was the MC at the Ekurhuleni Summer Splash in 2021, one of the biggest gigs of his career.

He said that last year he was the MC for the Red Square DJ Knockout competition and the Red Square Dance competition for 2023.
“Zigzag Café has been a blessing to me, and I want to thank their manager, Thamsie Langa, and Oferta Joy, the VLV Lounge Eypilini manager, for giving me the platform to do my job,” he said.
Kagiso said that in this industry, one of the challenges he faces is that as upcoming MCs, they don’t get paid enough.
He hopes to work with influential people like Somizi and Robot Boi.
