ActionSA donates 300 dignity packs to Phulong Secondary School

ActionSA spent Mandela Day giving back to the community.

Kwa-Thema – To celebrate the legacy of Nelson Mandela, ActionSA donated dignity packs to the learners at Phulong Secondary School on Tuesday.

They donated hampers to 300 learners – 100 for the boys and 200 for the girls.

Clr Charlotte Zitha told African Reporter they labelled the event the Mandela Day Caucus Campaign.

“As the 16 councillors across the metro, we have donation drives. This donation was an extension of it.

“We identify a need in various schools in the metro and find ways to remedy the problem,” she said.

Zitha added that a teacher approached them to donate to learners from disadvantaged backgrounds.

“We were happy we delivered on our promises and even exceeded what we had planned.”

Zitha encouraged residents to show their kindness by identifying a child in need and covering their needs.
