International Karatedo Organisation Kyokushinkaikan Sonoda (IKOKS) proud of performance
The hall was packed with spectators waiting to see the fighting skills.
Duduza – The IKOK Sonoda competed in the International Karate Organisation (IKO) Matsushima Tournament for junior and senior fighters on Saturday to sustain their winning streak.
The event was held at the Orlando Communal Hall in Soweto.
IKOK Sonada lived up to its mandate of fighting to win beyond any challenge. They enjoyed the support from the crowd, especially those from Mamelodi in Pretoria, who beat drums and sang each time a fighter from Duduza was in the ring.
“We aimed to maintain our reputation of dominating our opponents to keep our winning records intact. I’m happy we lived up to that expectation,” said team captain Sindiswa Mulaudzi (14) and founding member of Duduza Library IKOK Sonoda.

“Every tournament or championship we compete in, we leave a lasting mark on spectators and fellow fighters because of our unique style of fighting, persistence and our never give up spirit,” added Mulaudzi.
The IKOK Sonoda needs to raise funds to participate in Japan from October 7 to 10. They were invited to participate in the International Karatedo Organisation Kyokushinkaikan Sonoda (IKOKS) Inaugural International Exchange.
More than 30 countries have confirmed their participation, but SA has yet to because the five karateka from Duduza have not yet secured funds to honour the invitation.
“We request any sports supporters with means to contribute towards our karateka so they may be able to go to Japan to compete there with the world’s best karateka,” said Bheki Radebe, the founder and manager of the dojo.
