Motorists are urged to be vigilant when travelling on the N17 between Tonk Meter and Ergo roads.
The road was blocked with rocks and burning tyres by angry protesters.
This morning the EMPD and SAPS intervened, and the road was cleaned and opened to the public.
However, there have been reports of stones being hurled at passing cars.
Motorists are advised to be careful on that road.
