Learners encouraged to study hard
Kenneth Masekela Secondary School received laptops and an invernter.
Kwa-Thema – The Thabang Xaba Foundation together with BET Software donated 10 laptops to Kenneth Masekela Secondary School on Thursday.
The two organisations also donated an inverter towards the school’s ICT centre and this was because the school was number one in Kwa-Thema after the 2023 matric results were released.
The founder of Thabang Xaba, Thabang Xaba said, “We are trying to bring back the ICT culture to the community and also capacitate the learners with computer skills.”
The organisations also gave five laptops and other gifts to the best-performing students (2023 matriculants).
“This was to encourage them to continue doing well in their future endeavors. And to also encourage the current matrics to study hard as they’ll see that hard work pays,” Xaba said.
He said together with BET they will be opening ICT centres around the community to capacitate young people who have passion in IT and software development.
“We’ll be giving them an opportunity to grow and expose their skills and BET will be there to train them and if and when possible find them job placements,” he said.
