Local artist unveils fresh hip-hop EP

Inflection Point is available on all digital streaming platforms.

Tsakani – Jabulani Tshabalala, popularly known as Lowkey Jay SA, released his second EP called Inflection Point on March 21.

The Tsakani-based artist said the EP reflects his creativity, resilience, and determination to succeed. His love for hip-hop music began at a young age and he is ready to take over the hip-hop world with his latest music.

“Growing up, I used to listen to a lot of hip-hop music, and I got inspired to start making my music.

“I started pursuing music during Covid-19. I released my single titled Rags to Bags in 2021, and people around me received it well and that motivated me to keep going.

“My journey has been steadily developing in a good way so far. I’ve managed to gain supporters from my hood even within the city of Joburg,” he said.

Tshabalala has performed at big events and shared the stage with prominent SA artists.

Jabulani makes music that young people can relate to.

“Last year I performed after LeeMcKrazy at UJ, and I had the opportunity to share the stage with the likes of Blaq Diamond, Cassper Nyovest, and Kwesta who are people I look up to,” he added.

Tshabalala spoke about the transition he is going through as an artist.

“From being a local artist who just got support from only the people in my community, I’m now ready to make it into the professional music industry.

“That’s why I titled my EP as Inflection Point, I’m transitioning into being one of the artists who going to represent Kwatsaduza.

“People can relate to me especially the youth because I rap about what happens in my life and what happens around us in society. My music can give them motivation and some life lessons.

“My username is Lowkey Jay_SA on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube and on my social media accounts,” he added.
