Chilla no Jamza donates to Tsakane Therapy Centre
The centre caters for children living with disabilities.
Tsakani – Chilla no Jamza, an NPO, delivered an act of kindness to Tsakane Therapy Centre for children with disabilities by donating goods to them on Monday.
“We went to give them wipes, stress balls, toilet paper and yoga mats. It was the first time we donated to the centre, and it won’t be the last,” Chilla no Jamza’s COO Nokulunga Nhlanhla said.
She explained the centre’s CEO Thami Mkhondwane was surprised when the Chilla no Jamza staff showed up as he assumed they wouldn’t because of the rainy weather.
“His face lit up when we walked in, as he was no longer expecting us to come. We were received well by the staff and the children were excited,” she described.
Nhlanhla explained why it was important for them to specifically donate to the Tsakane Therapy Centre.
“We chose it because it is within our Ext 1 Tsakani community. It wouldn’t make sense to uplift centres outside this community and leave ours behind,” she said.
Tsakane Therapy Centre opened its doors in 2016. The centre caters for children living with disabilities. They offer the children physical stimulation and literacy programmes.
