Twenty local champions recognised at the Heroes of Tsakane Gala Dinner

Abanqobi Social Club celebrated 20 outstanding community champions during the second annual Heroes of Tsakane Gala Dinner.

Tsakani – The Abanqobi Social Club hosted its second annual Heroes of Tsakane Gala Dinner on November 8 at the Tsakane Community Hall.

The Heroes of Tsakane Gala Dinner is an elegant and inspiring evening that celebrates local heroes and the spirit of community in Tsakane. The event brings together residents, leaders, and partners for a night of recognition, reflection, and unity.

This year’s theme, Black with a touch of white, created a sophisticated and unified vision symbolising the coming together of diverse individuals for a common cause.

The gala is centred on recognising and honouring individuals who have made significant contributions to the Tsakane community.

“These heroes may be involved in various fields such as business, education, healthcare, community development, arts and culture, and social justice.

“The gala serves as a platform to showcase their stories and achievements, inspiring others and fostering a sense of pride in the community,” said Abanqobi Social Club deputy chairperson Vusi Somcuba.

“Hosting the gala in Tsakane aligns with the initiative of ukuphakamisa ikasi (uplifting the township) and demonstrates Abanqobi Social Club’s commitment to local economic development.”

Individuals and organisations were honoured across six categories. Twenty heroes received recognition for their hard work and dedication, each contributing positively to improving Kwatsaduza.

“The award recipients should continue to excel in their own spaces while making a difference in society. Their hard work will encourage the youth.

“The evening not only acknowledged past achievements but also ignited hope for future progress, reminding everyone that the strength of Tsakane lies in the everyday heroes who work tirelessly to make it a better place,” added Somcuba.
