Food 4 Thought donates shoes and supports Gorogang Primary amid food shortages

Food 4 Thought steps in to support local students, tackling food shortages and school challenges in Kwa-Thema.

Kwa-Thema – Food 4 Thought, an NGO based in Kwa Thema, aims to alleviate food shortages and address challenges faced by schools.

One of the organisation’s goals is to assist learners with essential school materials such as uniforms. The NGO donated school shoes to more than 20 learners at Gorogang Primary School on November 13.

According to Chris Kope, Public Relations and Communication Manager of the NGO, his uncle Robert Kope served as principal at the school while Chris was still a learner there.

“My team and I felt the need to plough back to a place where most of us were learners. There are many challenges related to food shortages within communities and we are trying to intervene by assisting government where it falls short with school nutrition,” he said.

“We are grateful to the teachers and the current school principal for allowing us to support the learners.”

Food 4 Thought has pledged to support the school again in January when the new school term begins.
