Sector One Crime Forum awards celebrates community heroes

The Kwa-Thema SAPS and the CPF honoured volunteers, leaders and patrollers for their commitment to keeping the community safe.

The Kwa-Thema Sector One Crime Forum, operating under the CPF, honoured its members at an awards ceremony at Fred Habedi Primary School on Thursday.

Sector manager Sergeant Percy Mabanga from the Kwa-Thema SAPS emphasised the importance of recognising community members who support crime-fighting initiatives.

He appreciated the partnership with residents, noting that their combined efforts had strengthened safety throughout the sector.

All members of the Sector One Crime Forum received certificates of appreciation for their contributions over the past year.

Awards were also presented in these categories:

• Best Sector One leader of the year
Winner: Ellen Lekau;
Second: Goodhope Phakathi;
Third: Dinah Lekalakala.

• Best future and promising secretary
Winner: Fortunate Tsokalamtengo;
Second: Gugu Dhlamini;
Third: Thandeka Magudulela.

• Best sub-sector of the year
Winner: Riverside (Sub-Sector B);
Second: Tornado (Sub-Sector E);
Third: Overline (Sub-Sector B).

• Best patrollers’ group of the year
Winner: Riverside (Sub-Sector D);
Second: Phomolo (Sub-Sector C);
Third: Deeplevel and 425 Scheme (Sub-Sector A).

The event celebrated volunteerism, dedication and continued collaboration to make Kwa-Thema a safer community for all.
