Ekurhuleni reassures community of continuous services during holidays

Residents are urged to note December closure dates for municipal offices, while essential services such as electricity, water, and emergency care will continue without interruption.

As the festive season approaches and many prepare to wind down for the holidays, the City of Ekurhuleni (CoE) is assuring residents that essential services will remain fully operational even as municipal offices close for the annual recess.

Council offices will be closed from December 16 as it is a public holiday, and on December 24 from 13:00 before reopening on January 2, 2026.

The CoE encouraged residents in need of healthcare services to use Community Healthcare Centres (CHC) and hospitals, which will operate 24 hours during the recess period.

While the closure of municipal offices will not affect essential services such as electricity and water services, the CoE advised residents to use the numbers listed below for any emergency or service interruption.
