Kwa-Thema – The EMPD Eastern Region Task Team recovered a hijacked Toyota Hilux Raider during a routine patrol in Kwa-Thema in the early hours of July 22.

According to CoE spokesperson Zweli Dlamini, at approximately 01:00, officers discovered an abandoned white Toyota Hilux Raider at the corner of Madiba Drive and Duzane Street in Ext 3.

“After conducting checks on the vehicle, officers confirmed that it had been hijacked in the Springs area,” he said.

All relevant stakeholders were notified, and the vehicle was impounded at a SAPS vehicle pound for safekeeping and further investigation. Police investigations into the hijacking are continuing.
