Man (63) arrested after Mandrax worth R5 000 seized in Tsakani raid
A joint law enforcement operation led to the arrest of a 63-year-old man after officers allegedly uncovered Mandrax tablets worth about R5 000 at a Tsakani home.
Tsakani – EMPD Community Liaison Unit officers, in conjunction with SAPS Crime Intelligence and other law enforcement agencies, arrested a 63-year-old man for possession of illicit drugs in the Tsakani area on July 24.
The man was nabbed following intel received. According to CoE spokesperson Zweli Dlamini, the information was shared with the relevant stakeholders, together with a description of the suspect.
“On the same day, the law enforcers assembled for an operational briefing before proceeding to the identified address on Seboko Street.

“Upon arrival, the suspect was found at the premises. Officers requested permission to search the premises, and the suspect voluntarily granted consent,” he explained.
During the search, officers recovered one 100 Mandrax tablets with an estimated street value of approximately R5 000, concealed inside a drawer in the room where the suspect was sleeping.
The man was detained at the Tsakane Police Station. He is expected to appear before the Tsakane Magistrate’s Court soon.
