EMPD arrests suspect after recovering hijacked trailer and stripped Ford Ranger in Duduza

A man was arrested after EMPD officers recovered a hijacked trailer.

Duduza – Between July 25 and 26, EMPD Eastern Region Task Team officers arrested a 38-year-old suspect and recovered a stolen trailer and vehicle during separate operations conducted in Duduza.

According to CoE spokesperson Zweli Dlamini, while on patrol, officers came across an abandoned trailer in a field.

“Upon further investigation, it was established that the trailer had been stolen in the Springs area.

“The trailer was subsequently impounded at the Aeroton Police Pound,” he said.

In a separate incident in Spaarwater near Duduza, officers recovered a Ford Ranger Wild-track that had been hijacked from its owner the previous day.

“The vehicle was found partially stripped,” he added.

All relevant stakeholders were notified, and the recovered vehicle was also taken to the Aeroton Police Pound for safekeeping.

The arrested suspect was taken to the Duduza Police Station and is expected to appear before the Duduza Magistrate’s Court soon.
