NOTICE OF INTENTION TO APPLY FOR A WATER USE LICENCE BY MOUNT ARABEL NR 2 (PTY) LTD Notice is hereby given in terms of Section 42(4) of the National Water Act (Act 36 of 1998)(NWA) and Regulations (R. 267 of 24 March 2017) that Mount Arabel Nr 2 (Pty) Ltd is applying for the permanent transfer of 476 532 m/a from the Suikerbosrand River for irrigation purposes from the remaining extent to portion 2 of the farm Mount Arabel 383 IR, situated on coordinates (S) 26`36`02.85″ (E) 28`16`12.31″. The water use on the remaining extent of the farm Mount Arabel 383 IR, has been declared as existing lawful water use on terms of Section 35(4) of the NWA.
Schoeman & Vennote has been appointed to prepare and submit the Water Use Licence Application (WULA) to the Department of Water and Sanitation on behalf of Mount Arabel Nr 2 (Pty) Ltd. The application has commenced and the Departmental reference No. is WU51760.
Section 41(4) of the NWA requires Mount Arabel Nr 2 (Pty) Ltd to give the public suitable notice in newspapers and other media – (i) describing the Iicence applied for; and (ii) stating that written objections may be lodged against the application within 60 calendar days from the date of this notice.
Written comments or objections on the WULA may be lodged by any interested and affected party and submitted to Schoeman & Vennote no more than 60 days from this notice.
