Go Bokke go!

Those guys will have you glued to your television screen throughout the match with little understanding of the game or who is winning.

I am not much of a rugby fan and to be honest with you, I know or understand very little about the sport.

What I can tell you though is that whenever the team is playing in international games, I cannot help but catch FOMO (fear of missing out).

I normally would update myself about some of the important rules of the games, bit of their recent history, their latest wins and loses, and who is still in the squad just so I won’t feel left out during conversations with friends. I mean, can you imagine me saying Brian Habana is still a catch even though he is no longer there?

Also, I make time to scroll through the pictures of the 31-man squad just so I will be able to chip-in when my girls are discussing the hot guys in the team.

The ongoing Rugby World Cup is not different.

I mean, have you seen how good my brothers in that team look, like Siya Kolisi, Tendai Mtawarira, Lukhanyo Am and Makazole Mapimpi.

Those guys will have you glued to your television screen throughout the match with little understanding of the game or who is winning.

I must add that I thoroughly enjoyed their last match when they were playing against Wales in the semi-finals in a 19-16 win.

This saw the Bokke qualifying for the finals against England in the final on November 2 in Yokohama, Japan.

The win is history repeating itself because the two teams broke sweat 12 years ago when South Africa defeated England in Paris and were crowned as winners.

I am not much of a gambler, but somehow I have a strong urge to place a bet on our team, maybe I might just win a few rands while at it.

If this doesn’t tell you it is the signal we have been waiting for then I don’t know what miracle you are waiting for.

Like me, let us all join the rest of the rugby fans in wishing the Bokke luck in their upcoming final game on Saturday.

These men in green and gold have made us very proud thus far and deserve our undivided support.
