A sour end to the game

The Simunye soccer game between Extension Eight and Issy FC did not end well.

The game played on Sunday at an open space between the shops next to Da Venue Bottle Store in the presence of many soccer fans who came out to watch the game had a sour ending.

The game started with both teams playing hard to impress their supporters but things did not end the way that many supporters were expecting them to.

The first goal of the game was from Issy FC.

The game continued with the Extension Eight coach coaching and encouraging his players to put in more effort.

It was clear that the Extension Eight players listened to their coach as they scored a goal for their team after the Issy FC had already registered two goals under their name.

Things turned ugly when Extension Eight scored another goal which the Issy players and supporters felt was not a goal.

While the Extension Eight players and supporters stayed calm, the Issy FC players and supporters were angry at the referee, demanding that he did not count Extension Eight’s goal.

Issy FC could not stand the Extension Eight’s last goal and they decided to withdraw from the tournament.

Speaking on behalf of Simunye, Sibusiso Zwane said despite the misunderstanding between the team and the referee, they are still looking forward to having them taking part in the Simunye games again.

“We admit that we are not perfect and it is not Simunye’s intention to offend other teams,” said an apologetic Zwane.

The games had to continue and Extension Eight played against Da Venue FC and won by 4-2.

When playing against the Bahamas, Extension Eight lost the game by 5-2.
