Simangele wins grading fight
Simangele Habede (21) won her boxing grading fight and is now ready to fight at the next level.
To ensure her growth in this sport, Simangele fought and won her a grading fight on March 4 in Alberton in order to qualify as an amateur female boxer.
She says her fight against Shelly Smith was one of the easiest fights she has ever fought.
“Because I trained very hard, winning the fight was easy for me and I am proud that I did not only do it for my club but the community of Kwatsaduza,” said an excited Simangele.
Tafadzwa Chinyakata (22) and Nathi Makhanya also won their grading fights and are ready to fight at the amateur level.
Coach and founder of Geo Maroon Boxing Club, Themba Zulu said he had no doubt that his boxers were ready for their important fights.
“Winning the grading fight opened doors for Simangele to prove that she is one of the best female fighters in the country,” said Zulu.
He revealed that Simangele is now waiting for the list of her up coming fights and that she continues working hard.
“My boys are also ready to face their opponents in the ring when fighting at the amateur level,” said confident Zulu.
