“I was approached because the chairperson knows I am highly competitive and as a team they are ready for a new challenge.
“This is one of the oldest teams from Ekurhuleni to be in the ABC Mostepe League.
“Our focus and goal is to play in the GladAfrica Championship,” says Mendu.
He explains that the success of the team will be a true reflection of the community they come from.
“For now we are at the implementation stage. Therefore we all need to adapt to the change and adjust.
“But with the community behind us I believe we can make things happen.

“As it stands the team doesn’t have any sponsors, which is one of the challenges we are facing at the moment.”
The team is currently sitting at position six in the league after playing eight games.
Team manager Makhosini Mathebula says the change has been well received by players.
“The team is responding very well to the change and there is a shift in terms of energy amongst players.
“We have been unlucky with goals, but we are working on it.”
Mendu adds that he will be bringing competitiveness, teamwork and confidence to the team, and he wants to motivate the young talents to dream beyond their current situation.
