“Throughout the year, I have been working hard in the gym to ensure that I am fit to stand the pressure in the ring.
“In both fights in the semi-finals the referee called off the match because my opponents were not strong and fit enough to continue fighting,” he explained.
Coach Lwazi Xundu said he is proud of the sportsman for bringing gold medals home.
“From the regional competition, both fighters showed dedication and hunger to win and followed all my teachings.
“We are now helping Motlatsi to nurse his injury to ensure that he gets back in the ring,” he added.
The team is urging young people who are interested in pursuing boxing as a sport to join them.
