Wrestlers bring back medals

Tsakani – Six wrestlers from the Battle Ground Wrestling Club brought home medals from a national wrestling tournament at Menlo Park Wrestling Club in Pretoria last week. U-9 wrestler Pearl Mkhabela bagged a gold medal, while Noxolo Malaza (u-15), Hlelo Nkosi (u-9) and Peaceful Khumalo (u-11) obtained silver. Snethemba Chosana (u-11) and Scebi Thipe (u-10)

U-9 wrestler Pearl Mkhabela bagged a gold medal, while Noxolo Malaza (u-15), Hlelo Nkosi (u-9) and Peaceful Khumalo (u-11) obtained silver.

Snethemba Chosana (u-11) and Scebi Thipe (u-10) earned bronze medals.
Founder and coach Mpho Madi said: “We did better than expected. Next year I’m hoping for more medals.”
The club has extended an invitation to community members who would like to join.
Anyone from the age of six, male or female, is welcome. The wrestlers train every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at Tsakani Stadium from 15:00 to 17:30.
