Duduza designer creates own underwear range

He has recently launched the male XollyM Ultimate Gift range and is already planning on creating more.

Duduza – Aspiring entrepreneur Xolane David from Bluegum View have established his own underwear brand named XollyM.
He recently launched the male XollyM Ultimate Gift range and is already planning on creating more ranges.
“In primary school, I was fascinated with fashion design even though I ended up studying marketing.
“I suppose designing has always been my calling.
“I just couldn’t let it go,” explained David.

His range aims to celebrate African males irrespective of their sexual orientation.
The idea came to him during lockdown when he noted there was a gap in the market for male fashion underwear.
“I made a vow to myself during our first lockdown, that anything that is ground breaking and history-making I want to be part of it when this whole thing settles.
“My motivation comes from seeing ekasi movers and shakers as I aspire to the finer things in life,” he said.
He is currently organising a showcase event which will take place at Ekhaya in Duduza on November20, which will include male swimwear.

The range will also be launched in Africa next year.
He has worked with organisations that provide bursaries for young people and has worked as secretary for the Youth Desk which is a support structure for the CPF.
“There’s a lot in store for XollyM and there’s definitely a room for growth,” added David.
