Tsakani – Local teams recently participated in the Owl City Easter Tournament, which ended in victory for Tjovitjo’s U15 team.

The U15 team etched their name into the history books as champions after a nail-biting final against the Vultures.

Entering the match as the top seed from the group stages, Tjovitjo carried the weight of expectation with grace, ultimately proving that their position at the summit of the table was no fluke.

Their coach, Obakeng Mapotela, said the final was a tactical masterclass and a showcase of young talent.
The match ended in a 1-1 draw after regulation time.

“We refused to lose without a fight until we went to penalties. The penalty shootout was a display of remarkable composure as my team emerged victorious with a win,” said Mapotela.

Tjovitjo won 4-3 on penalties, sparking scenes of jubilation among players and supporters alike.

This victory marks the crowning achievement of a campaign in which Tjovitjo consistently outpaced the competition.

“Throughout the group stages, we navigated a field of tough opponents, which included the unbeaten Amen Foundation and a resilient Sports Manu.

“We ended the tournament well, and occupy the top of the log with eight points. Our ability to maintain a positive goal difference and secure crucial wins when it mattered resulted in a win,” he added.

While the Vultures proved to be formidable finalists, it was Tjovitjo’s clinical execution from the spot and their unwavering spirit that ensured they walked away with the trophy, cementing their status as the premier force in U15 football.
