VARIOUS schools of Alberton participated in the Alberton Athletics Championships, and Alberton Primary’s student Simphiwe Mtimkulu broke the 200m record with a time of 25.1 seconds, winning the 100m race.
The students participated and those who went through to the next event were Gift, Moherane, Thandeka Mpambo, Simphiwe Mtimkulu, Amo Makol and Sandile Mcongo (seniors).
The juniors who made it through were Paul Matshovhana, Siza Ngwenya, Luyonda Manzini, Menzi Gama and Harry Sangwenu.
The District Championships event will be on Monday February 24, and information regarding this will be shared with the community later.
