Little ones compete in Kiddies Olympics

The Ekurhuleni Department of Sport and Recreation hosted the Kiddies Regional Olympics at the Charl Baard Stadium, in Brakpan, last Thursday.

Tsakane -Hundreds of children from local pre-schools participated in fun activities such as ball dribbling, cycling and ring throwing.

“Pre-schools participating in the event were selected from an event that took place at the Duduza Multi-purpose Centre, last month,” says Tumelo Selopyane, senior sports and recreation officer for the department.

He adds out of the 100 pre-schools that participated, 40 will be selected to compete in the Kiddies Metro Games which will take place on May 8, at Sechaba Stadium, in Daveyton.

Principal of Thiesa Burgers Pre-school in Tsakane, Mthokozile Nhlabathi, says she was excited about her school taking part in the games, and hopes the school will participate again next year.
