ALBERTON – Bracken High School alumni, Simone Wilson and Mary-Rose Aniegboka, were selected to play for the Golden Lions women’s rugby team.
Simone, who is currently a teacher at Bracken High School, plays fly half and Mary-Rose is on the wing.
“I had the privilege of attending their first fixture of the season at Alberton Rugby Club on Saturday, July 4, where they beat the Blue Bulls 44-5. Both Simone and Mary-Rose played extremely well and Mary-Rose scored a great try down the side of the field,” said Bracken High spokesperson, Graham Dinkelman.
The team will be playing in the curtain raiser when the Golden Lions take on the Pumas at Ellis Park on August 8.
Joanne Felix, also a former Bracken High learner, was invited to attend the Springbok Sevens ladies training camp.
