Alberton looking dirty and scruffy

More and more boards become a target for vandals.

AROUND town there are a number of name boards, power boxes and walls with writing on them.

In Michelle Avenue in Randhart, the Alberton name board has been vandalised. Walls and boards In Grey Avenue, Second Avenue, Gumtree Street, Swartkoppies and many more streets, have been vandalised.

A resident, who wants to stay anonymous, said: “These people either write the word ‘alt’ or swear words on it. All can be seen from your vehicle while driving. Vandals go out and destroy property without even knowing the cost to replace it and it makes Alberton look dirty and ‘scruffy’.”

“There are already people out there who pollute the streets with rubbish – now we have this as well. Alberton seems to be deteriorating very fast,” the resident said.

The RECORD did ask EMM what the laws are regarding vandalism on June 27 but did not receive any comment since then.
