COVID-19: Guidelines for social distancing
The do's and do not's of social distancing.
With the spread of Covid-19 in South Africa as part of the global pandemic the authorities have called on people to practice social distancing in their daily lives. Social distancing refers to someone avoiding public gatherings as much as they can.
Here are some guidelines on what you can and what you shouldn’t do:
Things to avoid: (red)
· Group gatherings
· Sleepovers
· Play dates
· Concerts
· Theatre outings
· Athletics events
· Crowded malls
· Workouts and gyms
· Having non-essential workers in your home
· Mass transit systems.
Things that can be done with caution: (orange)
· Eating at a local restaurant
· Going to the grocery store
· Ordering takeaway
· Picking up medication
· Visiting the library
· Attending religious services
· Travelling.
Things that are safe to do: (green)
· Taking a walk
· Hiking
· Gardening
· Playing in the garden
· Family game nights
· Going for a drive
· Checking on a friend
· Checking on elderly neighbours.
