GALLERY: Cansa Cuppa on the Catwalk raises much-needed funds
Cuppa for Cansa is an opportunity to connect with those you care about while drinking your favourite beverage and raising funds for a worthy cause at the same time.
It sure was a morning filled with inspiration and decorated with strong and beautiful women getting together to support Cuppa for Cansa with a twist – a Cuppa on the Catwalk.
This took place at Life Grand Café at Mall of the South on International Charity Day.
The event was hosted by Tandi Potgieter, CEO of Icarus Media and former Mrs South Africa Mrs Personality.
The theme for the Cuppa this year is Celebrate Life – Your Story is Worth more than Gold. This theme was carried through in the white and rose gold theme for the event with tables and flower wall decorated by Blooming Mad Designs.
Models from Ace Models Jhb North and South modelled stunning creations by Scarlett Red Boutique, Cansa Headwear, as well as the new range of Cansa Cuppas, which were available for purchase.
To give the event some beat, music and sound was provided by Icarus Sound. Guests enjoyed decadent canapes by Life Grand Café and sipped on Martini 0.0 per cent, a delicious non-alcoholic sparkling refreshment.
Cancer Survivor and Mrs SA Top 50 finalist Candise Williams-Reddiar moved the guests with her inspirational story and invited fellow cancer survivors Jocelyn Moodley and Nava Garach to share a special moment with each other.
“We are so grateful to be able to have an opportunity to hear these inspirational stories from our cancer survivors,” said Angelique Brits from Cancer East Rand.
“That is why these Cuppas are so important. Not only to raise funds to enable us to support those with cancer and their families, but also to share positive stories and raise awareness on early cancer detection.”
Di Thompson from dimanzi perfumes inspired guests with her story of how the award-winning dimanzi eau de parfum, SA’s first fine fragrance, was born. “If you have a passion nothing can stop you from living your dreams,” enthused Di, who also donated dimanzi perfumes and a voucher from Le Visage Boutique Salon for the raffle prize.
Tshegofatso Mathe and fellow Ace Models director Cathy Heaton spoke about the importance of empowering girls and helping them flourish by giving them the gift of confidence. Brittany Wait from Ace Models Jhb South raised the most funds in the pre-event raffle. She won a photo shoot with Candice Araujo Photography.
Tanusha Kuni won the raffle hamper, filled with fantastic prizes from dimanzi perfume, Le Visage Boutique Salon, Honey jewellery, Annique Tea and more. Two runners up also won awesome T-shirt and earring gift hampers from Blooming Mad Designs.
You can also host your own Cuppa for Cansa to raise funds for the Cancer Association of South Africa. Cuppa for Cansa is an opportunity to connect with those you care about while drinking your favourite beverage and raising funds for a worthy cause at the same time.
