Brackendowns SAPS conducts operation shut down

A total of 21 vehicles and 44 people were searched at the control points.

Brackendowns SAPS conducted operation shut down on October 30 in the Brackendowns area.

The officers were joined in the operation by members of the Brackendowns CPF.

“The aim was to bring awareness on safety and gender-based violence (GBV) as well as a no-tolerance approach to substance abuse,” said WO Gerhard Cornelius, spokesperson for Brackendowns SAPS.

During the operation they conducted two vehicle control points where awareness was raised on GBV and safety through the distribution of pamphlets.

A total of 21 vehicles and 44 people were searched at the control points.

The operation was also taken to 12 malls in the area and two parks. A further 15 people were searched during this.

Two suspects were arrested during the operation. One for the unlawful possession of dagga while the second for driving under the influence of alcohol.
