During their crime-prevention operation, the officers cornered the suspect who was found with narcotics, before he was marched to the Alberton Police Station.
According to EMPD spokesperson Kobeli Mokheseng, the 26-year-old faces charges of possession and possible dealing in illicit substances.
“The suspect was found loafing around on Voortrekker Road and was apprehended. This was after officers discovered eight ziplocks of khat and one zip lock of crystal meth valued at R2 100, following a body search,” he said.
The suspect is expected to appear in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court soon.
