SAPS visits Kasie FM

SAPS asked the community to bring all relevant information to the police.

Capt Manare Ramotshela from Alberton SAPS and Sgt Daphney Phooko from Elsburg SAPS visited Kasie FM to speak to members of the Kathorus community.

“The management of Alberton SAPS has realised every crime committed in the area is known to some of our community members,” said Ramotshela.

“If there is an illegal firearm in the area, people will most likely know about it before it is used to commit a crime.”
The communication officers asked the community to bring all relevant information to the police. They advised the community not to carry large sums of money.

“We all know that during this time people will be sharing their stokvel money,” said Phooko.

She advised the community not to collect the money from the bank but rather transfer it to all the stokvel members electronically.

The officers said to park your car outside during the evenings as criminals are on the lookout for vulnerable members of the community.
