Three successes in one day prove organisation’s mission for crime-free neighbourhood

“Fox Security featured in all three successes and are our top responders.”

Chairperson of the Glenvista CPF Mike Fontes said the CPF Vumacam LPR (Licence Plate Recognition) programme in their area is making strides in reducing crime with sustained successes.

“On January 6, three successes proved the point and in my opinion consistent successes against criminals are reducing the incidents of priority crimes in our sector and creates a difficult environment for criminals to operate in.

“Early morning on January 6, a vehicle wanted by detectives in Alberton entered our area and ran from Fox Security responders but was quickly found. The matter was handed over to Alberton SAPS.

“An LDV that was stolen from its owner in Moffat View last month also tested the system but didn’t get far. Fox responders caught up with the vehicle near the Mulbarton Netcare Hospital where it was wanted by SAPS and was impounded by Mondeor SAPS.

“Late afternoon, an Opel sedan robbed from its owner in September 2019 in Diepkloof, triggered our cameras and was found close by at a retail point. The vehicle was also impounded by Mondeor SAPS.

“Part of our community safety plan is to expand the camera count of intelligent cameras in our precinct married with strong local knowledge, diverse capable public and private security responders, and key partnerships with industry-leading role players such as Vumacam and AI Surveillance,” he said.

“I am convinced that we are on the right path to safer neighbourhoods and I want to especially thank our team.
“Fox Security featured in all three successes and are our top responders. They had the vision to back this project when it was just a thought in my head. They have put in the hours and invested the resources to make the response team what it is,” said Fontes.

He also gave gratitude to the members at Mondeor SAPS for supporting the programme, responding, and using the resource.

“The programme is not only a prolific crime-prevention tool but also an important investigative tool,” Fontes said.
