Alberton SAPS observes National Police Day
“We want to thank the community for their continuous support in helping us bring criminals to book.”
Alberton SAPS officers stood in solidarity to commemorate National Police Day on January 27.
On this day, the SAPS remembers the sacrifices made by police officers and continue to make as they provide safety for citizens.
This memorable day was approved by Cabinet in 2005.
The police officers joined the rest of the country’s SAPS members in remembering those who lost their lives in the line of duty. They also dedicated the notable occasion to those who lost their lives due to the pandemic.
Sgt Yuletide Mashoeshoe of Alberton SAPS said they work around the clock in serving the community.
“This day should be celebrated in honour of our men and women in blue because they are highly dedicated to serve the community. We also consider ourselves as frontline workers because we risk our lives in the line of duty and we play a big role in society,” she said.
Capt Manare Ramotshela, Alberton SAPS spokesperson, commented: “SAPS members are always there to assist the community, without favouritism. We want to thank the community for their continuous support in helping us bring criminals to book.”
