ALERT: City of Ekurhuleni’s prepaid electricity system to go offline

The City of Ekurhuleni plans to update its electricity prepayment system on February 20, which means prepaid electricity units will be offline.

According to a statement issued by the City on Thursday, the system update will be carried out from 14h00 up to 20h00 on Saturday.

The City has asked residents to make sure they have sufficient electricity units already loaded before the update to the system takes place.

“City of Ekurhuleni prepaid electricity customers will therefore not be able to buy electricity during that period. During the downtime period, the prepaid system will not be available at all vending points including the 3rd party vendors i.e. retailers and online banking.”

The City of Ekurhuleni apologises for the inconvenience this may cause.
