WATCH: Prolonged Alberton power cuts trigger protest

A peaceful demonstration in different parts of Alberton on Friday against the prolonged power cuts and breakdowns.

Disgruntled residents and business owners from Alberton gathered for a slow peaceful protest with their vehicles through Alberton this evening, June 18.

The protest proceeded through the Ring Roads, Swartkoppies Road, Hennie Albert’s Street and Michelle Avenue.

The message of the residents was clear, Alberton had enough of their ailing power infrastructure and many power cuts.

Residents demand answers from the mayor.
