Broken Wingers served Christmas lunch

Beneficiaries of Broken Wings were overjoyed to be served Christmas lunch by Panarottis Alberton at Mall at Newmarket on December 10.

Panarottis Alberton donated tasty treats to the 20 members of Broken Wings and its committee members as part of their Christmas lunch on December 10.

The Broken Wingers, ranging from 16 to 60 years, were treated to a mouth-watering meal on the day. The group was also voluntarily transported by Ernest Maphoroma of D-Shuttle Service from their Raceview centre to the New Market restaurant.

Thanks to locals Ashley and Heather Kokt as well as Derrick and Terri Allison, the Christmas lunch was a massive success.

Chantelle de Sousa of Broken Wings, who has been a special-needs school teacher for nine years, said Broken Wings used to go out for Christmas lunches every year.

“Due to the lockdown, we were closed for a year. It became difficult to find someone to donate to us such a big event. Our Broken Wingers love their centre, but they also enjoy coming out of it. We are were grateful to Panarottis Alberton for treating us to this Christmas lunch,” she said.
