Alberton Lions supports the fight against cancer
About R6 000 was raised by Alberton Lions in support of Cansa Shavathon hosted at Bracken City.
At least 17 Alberton Lions and friends supported the Cansa Shavathon at Bracken City on February 26.
During the fun-filled fund-raising event, some members of Alberton Lions had their hair sprayed while others preferred having it shaved.
After having their hair sprayed and shaved the group fellowshipped had a delicious breakfast as the morning progressed.
The multi-coloured hair according to Sandra Human of Lions caused a stir as they were very bright and visible afterwards.
“We were instrumental in contributing close on R6 000 raised on the day. This outreach was a very important project to the Lions as Paediatric Cancer is one of our service pillars. The reality that cancer affects so many lives is heartbreaking and the Lions value the work that is done by Cansa,” she said.
Human said they were grateful to have stood together as an organisation to make a difference in the lives of others and that they will take part in it the following year.
