Support Silent Rights Care Pack Drive
Silent Rights is busy with a Care Pack Drive where residents and companies can sponsor a care pack for victims of violence.
The organisation was started by Chantelle Morrison from Florentia to help women of domestic abuse and gender-based violence.
Silent Rights is on the tongues of many South African women, as the organisation grew and expanded quite quickly.
They now have three directors and many official volunteers around South Africa.
Most of the women who came to them as victims have become leaders in the support group. All of these volunteers are also working full-time jobs.
Sponsor a care pack
The drive aims to donate 100 care packs by August in celebration of Women’s Month.
Each care pack contains a mini first-aid kit, sanitary disposable underwear, tissues, mask, soap, a washcloth, a toothbrush, toothpaste, lip balm, cream and a resources info booklet.
This is all put together in a string bag.
“A care pack cost R250 per bag and so far only six bags have been sponsored. We hope to reach our target of 100 bags as these bags are crucial to abused women.”
“The care packs are needed to aid survivors during times of immediate need and support their continued well-being,” said Chantelle.
Those who want to sponsor a care package can make payment to their First National Bank (FNB) cheque account with account number 6287300378 with branch code 250847 (Westgate) or make a payment via PayFast.
