MMC visits families of tavern shooting victims in Katlehong

MMC Moseki urges the community to work with the police and help fight crime in their areas after visiting the families of the victim who were killed in the tavern in Katlehong.

MMC Letlhogonolo Moseki reassured the relatives of the two murdered in the shooting at the Katlehong tavern that the city will support them in obtaining justice.

On July 13, Moseki and Isaac Mapiyeye, the city’s police chief, visited the families of the deceased.

This comes after the shooting incident that left Sibusio Hlatshwayo (28) and James Fitha Dlamini (56) dead at the tavern on July 8.

Moseki said that they will not rest until these offenders are arrested because they cannot allow these kinds of criminal acts to continue.

“Anyone with information that can help the police to arrest and successfully prosecute those involved in this crime and other crimes across the city may report it at any EMPD precinct near them or the SAPS. If we can join hands we can defeat crime,” he said.

Both families expressed gratitude for the visit by the City of Ekurhuleni.
