CoE works rapidly to fix the waste removal backlog

City of Ekurhuleni allocates more waste removal trucks to assist in waste collection after service provider trucks went for service.

To address the waste collection backlog in the region, the City of Ekurhuleni has sent out more trucks to assist with the collection of waste removal.

To swiftly address the issues faced around the city these extra vehicles will be added to those provided by service providers under contract with the city.

Extended dates will be given to regions that have backlogs in waste removal to address the issue.

The city kindly requests that anyone who has not received their waste removal services by the scheduled pickup date call the call centre on 0860 54 3000 to let them know.

According to Zweli Dlamini, when there are new developments in clearing the backlogs the city will keep residents informed.

“The city apologises for the inconvenience this has caused,” Zweli concluded.
